HSE Officer

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain HSE management systems in accordance with local regulations and international standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure safe work practices.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses and prepare reports with corrective and preventive recommendations.
• Deliver HSE training and awareness programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Maintain records of incidents, inspections, and HSE metrics for internal reporting and external audits.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety legislation, standards, and company policies.
• Promote environmental protection initiatives and waste management programs.
• Support emergency response drills and contribute to emergency preparedness planning.
• Liaise with local authorities, regulatory bodies, and third-party auditors as required.
• Participate in HSE meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

• A bachelor’s degree or diploma is required in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent is preferred.
