Position Overview
The position is HSE Officer within the QHSE department of a general contracting business.
The role requires three to four years of relevant HSE experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor site activities for compliance with HSE policies, procedures, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Conduct site inspections, safety audits, hazard identification, and corrective-action follow-up.
- Deliver toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness training for employees and subcontractors.
- Monitor PPE, work permits, and safe practices for high-risk construction activities.
- Report and investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
- Maintain HSE records, inspection reports, safety statistics, and related documentation.
- Coordinate safety matters with the Project HSE Manager, site team, consultants, and subcontractors.
Requirements
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in HSE, engineering, occupational health and safety, or a related field.
- Three to four years of relevant HSE experience in general contracting or civil construction.
- Good knowledge of construction safety practices, risk assessment, and UAE HSE requirements.
- Strong communication and site inspection skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- UAE construction experience is preferred.
- NEBOSH IGC or IOSH certification is preferred.
Work Location
- Work is performed in person.
