Job Description

  • ABO follows the US Curriculum and is a large Charter School with over 1500 students from KG2 to Grade 5.
  • The successful candidate will be aligned with core values: Respect, Collaboration, Passion, Integrity and Excellence.

Main Duties

  • Be responsible for delivery of facilities and general services across the School.
  • Ensure school facilities are maintained to highest standards (cleanliness, maintenance and safety).
  • Oversee school accommodation requirements.
  • Oversee efficient and cost effective purchasing and contracting.

Specific Duties General Operations

  • Ensure all repairs and maintenance at the School, including inspection and appointment of external service providers.
  • Ensure security and efficient operation of the school site, buildings and grounds.
  • Implementation of issued policies, systems, processes and student safeguarding measures.
  • Ensure school based events and activities are effectively planned and resourced.
  • Ensure essential central services such as catering, security, maintenance, cleaning, transport, waste disposal and recycling are effectively planned.
  • Support OSM in utilisation of space and resources for buildings.
  • Ensure daily monitoring of BMS and BMS alert systems.
  • Support OSM in procuring and maintaining staff accommodation.
  • Act as designated school Incident Commander and be contactable outside normal School hours.

Leadership & Management

  • Ensure external support service teams are performing in line with school expectations.
  • Manage facilities and general service teams to ensure high standards of service.
  • Ensure each team member partakes in professional development, appraisal and training.

Finance, Commercial & Procurement

  • Oversee relevant budgets and expenditure, effectively manage costs.
  • Support opportunities for shared resource, cost and/or services across partner schools.
  • Ensure purchasing policy and Delegation of Authority processes are followed.

Relationship & Stakeholder Management

  • Ensure schools are fully compliant with local government authority regulations.
  • Ensure all internal and external audit actions are completed in a timely manner.

Health, Safety & Environment

  • Promote a positive and proactive health and safety culture.
  • Ensure school complies with current Health & Safety legislation and guidelines.
  • Review and monitor health and safety performance of contractors and suppliers.
  • Support OSM with environmental related aims and objectives.
  • Ensure all internal and external health, safety and environmental audits are completed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum diploma / degree of higher education; or related industry qualification of graduate level.
  • Certificate of Facilities Management / NEBOSH or IOSH preferable.

Minimum Experience

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a mid level position within an education or facilities service oriented industry.
