  • The role is based at Etqan Global Academy in Doha, Qatar.

Role Overview

Nord Anglia Education is seeking a Head of Primary for Etqan Global Academy, a newly established IB World School.

The school offers the IB Primary Years Programme and seeks leadership focused on inquiry-based learning and student success.

The Role

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for the primary school.
  • Lead implementation and development of the IB Primary Years Programme.
  • Develop and support teachers through coaching, appraisal, and continuing professional development.
  • Drive school improvement through monitoring, evaluation, data analysis, and collaborative planning.
  • Build a safe, nurturing, and challenging primary school community.
  • Work with the PYP Coordinator on programme delivery and IB accreditation.
  • Build relationships with parents and the wider school community.
  • Oversee assessment, reporting, and curriculum planning.
  • Promote student agency, inquiry-based learning, and the IB learner profile.

Successful Candidate

  • Recognised primary teaching qualification, such as PGCE, QTS, or equivalent, and a relevant degree.
  • Significant senior leadership experience within an IB PYP school.
  • Deep knowledge of the IB Primary Years Programme and transdisciplinary pedagogy.
  • Track record of raising student outcomes and leading school improvement.
  • Experience developing and coaching high-quality teaching teams.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Strong commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
  • International school experience, ideally in the Middle East, is desirable.
