  • The role is based at Etqan Global Academy in Doha, Qatar.

The Role

Etqan Global Academy is seeking a DP Mathematics Teacher specializing in Applications and Interpretation.

The school is an IB World School offering the IB Diploma Programme and IB Career-related Programme.

The teacher will inspire students to use Mathematics to understand and solve real-world problems.

Teaching Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver DP Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation lessons at SL and/or HL in line with IB curriculum and examination expectations.
  • Develop mathematical thinking, modelling skills, statistical literacy, and effective use of GDC, mathematical software, and technology.
  • Manage the Mathematical Exploration Internal Assessment process and provide guidance, support, and feedback.
  • Prepare students for IB external examinations through rigorous, data-informed teaching.
  • Differentiate effectively for learners with additional needs or EAL.
  • Teach MYP Mathematics where timetabled using high standards and inquiry-based approaches.
  • Contribute to the Mathematics department and the wider life of the school.

Successful Candidate

  • Recognized teaching qualification and a degree in Mathematics or a closely related discipline.
  • Proven experience teaching IB DP Mathematics, ideally Applications and Interpretation.
  • Knowledge of IB DP assessment, Internal Assessment processes, and examination preparation.
  • Ability to use GDC, mathematical software, and technology effectively to support learning.
  • Excellent classroom management, communication, and differentiation skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing.
  • IB DP Mathematics workshop training and international school experience are desirable.
  • Ability to meet visa requirements for working in Qatar.
