A UAE-based marketplace startup is seeking a Head of Marketplace & Commercial Operations to own the commercial engine, including inventory health, pricing, and partner relationships.

Responsibilities
- Own supply and seller health: active sellers, category mix, listing depth, sell through rates, and assortment gaps
- Monitor pricing and offer health, guide sellers on pricing strategy
- Build and maintain the fee and payout model: commission tiers, seller payout systems, and buyer protection fee
- Audit seller payouts for accuracy, timing, and reconciliation against transactions
- Deliver a weekly commercial dashboard: GMV, take rate, AOV, listing velocity, sell through, and new listing rate
- Own the commercial and operational relationship with logistics and payment partners
- Lead commercial negotiations on rates, volume incentives, and contract renewals
- Build dispute and claims playbooks, define SOPs, and set SLA targets
Requirements
- 3–5 years of marketplace experience at a high volume transaction platform (Noon, Amazon, Ounass, or similar)
- Strong commercial acumen with delivery and logistics fluency
- Hands on, detail oriented, and comfortable building from zero
- Strong cross functional collaborator
- Arabic language skills and previous UAE experience preferred

Role Overview
- We are partnering with a newly established, high potential marketplace startup in the UAE to build their founding team.
- You will own the commercial engine of the marketplace: inventory health, pricing integrity, fee and payout accuracy, and delivery and payment partner relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Own supply & seller health: active sellers, category mix, listing depth, sell through rates, and assortment gaps.
- Monitor pricing and offer health: offer acceptance rate, benchmark vs market, guide sellers on pricing strategy.
- Build and maintain the fee and payout model: commission tiers, seller payout systems, and buyer protection fee.
- Audit seller payouts for accuracy, timing, and reconciliation against transactions.
- Deliver a weekly commercial dashboard: GMV, take rate, AOV, listing velocity, sell through, and new listing rate.
- Own the commercial and operational relationship with logistics and payment partners.
- Lead commercial negotiations on rates, volume incentives, and contract renewals.

What We're Looking For
- 3–5 years of marketplace experience at a high volume transaction platform (Noon, Amazon, Ounass, or similar).
- Strong commercial acumen with delivery and logistics fluency, with an analytical mindset.
- Hands on, detail oriented, and genuinely comfortable building from zero.
- Strong cross functional collaborator: product, tech, finance, legal, brand.
- Arabic language skills and previous UAE experience preferred.
Compensation & Details
- AED 20,000 / month.
- Meaningful stock options — vesting schedule discussed at the offer stage.
- Candidates with their own UAE visa or Golden Visa preferred.
