Role Overview
Head of Department – Civil & Structural, Grade 22.
Leads the discipline across projects, proposals, engineering resources, technical delivery, quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and allocate manpower for projects, proposals, and discipline activities.
- Manage resources and resource development for short- and long-term needs.
- Coordinate recruitment with HR and conduct technical interviews for senior hires.
- Provide technical expertise during project execution and proposal engineering.
- Set department objectives, KPIs, and budgets.
- Improve working systems, productivity, quality, cost consciousness, and technical knowledge.
- Direct performance evaluations and recommend training and development.
- Review and approve man-hours, costs, and BOQ estimates.
- Direct engineers and designers to maintain quality, budget, and schedule.
- Ensure compliance with company ISO quality procedures and facilitate quality audits.
- Coordinate with engineering leadership, global offices, project functions, and other departments.
- Review complex civil and structural engineering problems and guide safe, efficient, and economical solutions.
Technical Scope
- Civil and structural design.
- EPC project execution and proposal engineering.
- Manpower and resource management.
- KPI, budget, man-hour, cost, and BOQ estimate management.
- ISO quality procedures and QA/QC audits.
- Risk, reward, and technical integrity studies.
Requirements
- Technical expertise in civil and structural design.
- Ability to review complex engineering problems and guide safe, efficient, and economical solutions.
- Ability to manage engineering resources, budgets, quality, safety, and project schedules.
