Role Overview
A Dubai sign, graphics, and display solutions company is seeking a large-format printing machine operator with graphic design experience.
The role combines graphic design, print production, large-format equipment operation, and finishing activities.
Production Duties
- Complete daily printing production tasks, including file preparation, resizing, and layout preparation.
- Coordinate with production teams to meet client specifications and deadlines.
- Operate large-format printing and finishing machines.
- Finish jobs within allocated timeframes and quality standards.
- Monitor printing processes and make adjustments as necessary.
- Inspect printed materials for quality and accuracy.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance.
- Troubleshoot printing equipment issues and malfunctions.
- Maintain records of print quantities, materials used, and issues encountered.
- Keep knowledge current on printing technology and industry developments.
Technical Skills
- Experience operating wide-format printing and cutting machines from manufacturers such as AGFA, HP, Vutek, Esko, Epson, Mimaki, Zund, Mutoh, Roland, or Graphtec.
- Experience operating flatbed cutters such as Esko Kongsberg, Zund, Colex, or similar equipment.
- Advanced experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Advanced experience with RIP software such as Onyx, Caldera, Photoprint, or Maintop.
- Knowledge of operating lamination machines.
- Ability to interpret printing specifications, job orders, and layout designs.
- Strong PC and Mac operating skills.
Work Requirements
- Ability to work independently and follow directions as part of a team.
- Strong organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift media rolls and other production materials.
- Availability for different shifts, including nights and weekends, based on production schedules.
Workplace
- Work is performed in person at the production workplace.
- Printing and finishing work must follow strict health and safety standards.
