Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented
Gis Development Lead Digital Twin
to join our team!
In this role you will get to lead the development and implementation of GIS and Digital Twin solutions, integrating geospatial data, BIM, and enterprise systems to support smart infrastructure, asset management, and data-driven decision-making across complex projects.
What You'Ll Be Doing
- Lead all GIS-related aspects of the Geospatial Digital Twin programme across discovery, design, PoC, implementation, and post implementation support phases
- Own the design, configuration, and implementation of GIS solutions using ArcGIS (enterprise, online, and associated components) to enable core Digital Twin use cases
- Design, develop, and manage interfaces and integrations between ArcGIS and other enterprise systems, external software, and APIs to support seamless data flows
- Define and implement GIS data models, geoprocessing workflows, map services, and web/mobile GIS applications in alignment with the overall solution and data architecture
- Collaborate with solution architects, data engineers, and developers to design and validate geospatial components of the Digital Twin platform, including non functional requirements such as performance, scalability, and security
- Lead the GIS workstream during the Proof of Concept, including configuration, integration, testing, and validation of geospatial use cases and data pipelines
- Plan and oversee the transition of GIS solutions from PoC to a production grade environment, including environment setup, migration, integrations, performance tuning, and go live readiness
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to GIS developers and related vendors, ensuring adherence to best practices, coding standards, and quality expectations
- Support stakeholder engagement on all GIS and mapping topics, including workshops to capture geospatial requirements, user journeys, and visualisation needs
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of GIS related documentation, including design specifications, integration designs, configuration guides, and operational runbooks
- Support post implementation GIS operations, including incident and problem resolution, minor enhancements, optimisation of geospatial services, and continuous improvement
- Assist in planning and delivering GIS focused training and knowledge transfer to client teams, and gather feedback to enhance solution usability and adoption
What Required Skills You'Ll Bring
- Degree in GIS, computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution
- Proven experience leading GIS solution design and implementation for large scale digital, Digital Twin, or geospatial projects in infrastructure, utilities, or urban environments
- Deep hands on expertise with the Esri ArcGIS stack, including ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, and the design and deployment of web maps and web/mobile apps
- Strong experience designing and implementing integrations between ArcGIS and enterprise/operational systems such as CMMS/EAM, ERP, BIM, SCADA/IoT platforms, and data warehouses/lakes
- Solid understanding of systems integration concepts and technologies, including , web services, message queues, and event driven architectures
- Strong knowledge of geospatial and information architecture, including spatial data models, time series data, and asset/linear network data
- Experience designing geospatial data models to support analytics, dashboards, or simulation and predictive use cases
- Demonstrated experience working within multidisciplinary, multinational teams distributed across multiple time zones
- Strong organisational and coordination skills, with experience planning and controlling GIS workstreams using formal project or delivery methodologies
- Hands on involvement in testing, acceptance, performance tuning, and go live activities for complex or integrated GIS solutions
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to explain GIS and integration concepts clearly to non technical stakeholders
- Fluency in spoken and written English
