Position Overview
ARX is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer for its site office in Dubai.
The role focuses on construction-stage geotechnical work, technical submission reviews, and coordination of specialist packages.
Technical Reviews
- Review piling, ground-improvement, and earthworks drawings, calculations, submittals, and subcontractor documentation.
- Review IFB and IFC drawings, identify discrepancies and construction impacts, and support RFIs through closure.
- Verify submissions against approved designs, specifications, geotechnical recommendations, and project requirements.
- Review method statements, inspection and test plans, sequencing proposals, and supporting calculations.
Coordination and Delivery
- Coordinate the P0b earthworks interface with structural, civil, infrastructure, temporary-works, and site teams.
- Provide geotechnical input to foundation and temporary-works reviews.
- Coordinate comments with subcontractors, designers, and the Engineer or Consultant through approval and close-out.
- Support NCR recommendations and resolution of construction-stage geotechnical issues.
- Attend meetings, monitor submissions, and contribute to progress reports and technical records.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- At least 8 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience on major projects.
- Experience reviewing piling and ground-improvement drawings, calculations, method statements, and technical submittals.
- Knowledge of bored piles, pile testing, ground treatment, excavation, earthworks, and foundation interfaces.
- Construction delivery experience with a contractor, subcontractor, consultant, or Technical Office.
- Ability to interpret investigation reports, design criteria, drawings, and specifications.
- Strong multidisciplinary coordination, technical writing, communication, RFI, and comment-closure skills.
- Middle East and airport experience are advantageous but not mandatory.
