About the Role

Responsibilities
- Lead a world class compliance function and implement an effective compliance program across the EGA Group
- Ensure the EGA Group is in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures
- Incorporate global best practices and ensure compliance risks are identified and abated
- Support and advise EGA's Executive Management team on all compliance related policies, programs and issues
- Provide periodic updates and guidance to General Counsel, Corporate Compliance Review Board, and Audit, Risk, and Compliance Committee
- Represent EGA with external stakeholders and regulators on compliance matters
- Set individual objectives for direct reports, manage performance, develop and motivate them
- Review Compliance budget submission and seek approval from General Counsel
- Act as focal point for compliance related issues across the EGA Group
- Serve as the CRB secretariat
- Implement compliance strategy, structure and initiatives across the EGA Group
- Develop and initiate new compliance programs as required
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an internationally reputable university; graduate degree preferred
- Minimum 4 years' experience in house working in a senior compliance position

Job Purpose
- To lead a world class compliance function and implement an effective compliance program that operates across the Emirates Global Aluminium Group.
- To ensure that the EGA Group is in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures and operates in an ethical manner.
- To incorporate global best practices and ensure compliance risks are identified and abated.
- To support and advise the EGA’s Executive Management team on all compliance related policies, programs and issues.
- To provide the General Counsel, the Corporate Compliance Review Board and the Audit, Risk, and Compliance Committee of the Board of Directors with periodic updates and guidance on compliance related matters.
- Represent EGA with external stakeholders and regulators on all matters related to compliance.
Key Accountabilities
- Sets individual objectives for direct reports, manage their performance, develop and motivate them, and provide them with formal and informal feedback and appraisals.
- Sets objectives for Compliance Council members to develop and motivate them in implementing an effective compliance program.
- Assesses Compliance Council members performance and effectiveness.
- Reviews Compliance budget submission and seek approval from General Counsel in a timely manner with consideration of management expectations and staffing required to support business growth and continuity across the Mubadala Group.
- Acts as the focal point for compliance related issues across the EGA Group.
- Serves as the CRB secretariat.
- Implements the compliance strategy, structure and initiatives across the EGA Group in close consultation with the General Counsel.
- Reviews operating and support team’s organizational compliance execution status to ensure program effectiveness and efficiency.
- Assesses key compliance risks and emerging issues, review internal and external audit results, analyses compliance reports, and review organizational assessments to identify compliance trends.
- Assists the Executive Management team to identify, assess, manage and proactively mitigate/abate risks associated with the EGA Group on a regular basis.
- Coordinates and networks with EGA’s customers, partners, suppliers and governments on compliance related matters.
- Develops and initiates new compliance programs as required.
Qualifications & Skills
- A bachelor’s degree from an internationally reputable university with preference of a graduate degree.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in house working in a senior compliance position.
- Regulatory skills, Operational skills, Analytical skills, Research skills, Strong drafting skills.
- Communication skills (Fluent English essential; Arabic desirable) with individuals and groups.
- Ability to build teams and generate effective staff coordination.
- Ability to liaise effectively, and coordinate internally and with vendors and service providers (at the international and local level).
- Planning, organizing and time management.
- Solid understanding of, and contribution to, Legal & Compliance team and EGA Group values, strategies, policies and procedures.
Authority / Decision Making
- The GC Compliance reports to the General Counsel and confers with him on all material and strategic issues.
- Key decisions having any material impact on the Compliance function are referred to the General Counsel for approval before implementation.
- The GC of Compliance identifies, formulates and implements the EGA Compliance program strategy with approval from the General Counsel.
- The GC of Compliance exercises financial authority as per the levels established by the EGA Delegation of Authority.
