About the Role

Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and comprehensive inspections on forklifts and material handling equipment
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
- Conduct timely repairs including replacement of engines, transmissions, electrical components, and hydraulic systems
- Maintain accurate records of all service, maintenance, and repair work
- Ensure adherence to health and safety policies and regulations
- Manage inventory of spare parts and place orders as necessary
- Liaise with operations team to schedule maintenance and minimize disruption
- Provide technical support and guidance to equipment operators
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Forklift Technician, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, or similar role
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems specific to forklifts
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and workshop equipment
- Relevant vocational qualification, apprenticeship, or certification in mechanical engineering or related field
- Excellent problem solving skills with methodical approach to fault finding
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong commitment to safety and high standard of work
- Good communication skills

Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and comprehensive inspections on all forklifts and associated material handling equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot a wide range of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults with precision and efficiency.
- Conduct timely and effective repairs, including the replacement of engines, transmissions, electrical components, and hydraulic systems.
- Maintain meticulous and accurate records of all service, maintenance, and repair work performed.
- Ensure strict adherence to all company health and safety policies and industry regulations.
- Manage the inventory of spare parts, placing orders as necessary to ensure availability for scheduled and unscheduled repairs.
- Liaise with the operations team to schedule maintenance tasks and minimise disruption to daily activities.
- Provide technical support and guidance to equipment operators on proper usage and daily checks.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working as a Forklift Technician, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, or in a similar technical role.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems specific to forklifts and material handling equipment.
- Proficiency in using a variety of diagnostic tools, hand tools, and workshop equipment.
- A relevant vocational qualification, apprenticeship, or certification in mechanical engineering or a related field is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem solving skills with a methodical approach to fault finding and repairs.
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- A strong commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and a high standard of work.
- Good communication skills are essential.
