Role Overview
Deliver technical fire and life safety engineering activities under the direction of the Fire Safety Engineering Lead.
Support the delegated Authority Having Jurisdiction governance framework through reviews, assessments, inspections, compliance verification, and investigations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct fire and life safety engineering reviews, inspections, assessments, and field verifications.
- Review new construction, renovations, fire protection systems, and high-hazard facilities.
- Conduct fire risk assessments and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Support inspection, testing, maintenance, commissioning, and verification of fire protection systems.
- Review fire alarms, water-based and special suppression systems, smoke control, passive fire protection, fire doors, barriers, and means of egress.
- Investigate fire incidents, system failures, unwanted alarms, and other fire and life safety issues.
- Coordinate with projects, facilities, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare technical recommendations for review and approval through designated safety leadership.
- Maintain audit-ready evidence, support Civil Defense documentation and inspections, and escalate significant risks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Fire Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- At least six years of professional experience in fire protection engineering, fire systems, fire prevention, or fire and life safety compliance.
- Strong knowledge of the Saudi Building Code, NFPA, International Fire Code, and Saudi Civil Defense requirements.
- Experience with fire protection system inspections, testing, commissioning, and compliance.
- Experience reviewing technical drawings, designs, specifications, and inspection documentation.
- A valid driver's license is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- International fire safety certifications such as CFPS, CFPE, NICET, IFE, or equivalent are preferred.
