About the Role
NTU International is seeking an Expert Principal – Expert en Réseaux Électriques for an EU-funded technical assistance project in Benin. The role involves supporting the planning, modernization, and security of electrical networks, as well as regulatory framework development.

Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of action plans for reducing technical and commercial losses in electrical networks
- Support the design and supervision of smart electrical network works
- Support modeling and evaluation of technical losses in electrical networks
- Support standards for electrical risk prevention and protection of people and property
- Support consultation among local stakeholders to ensure reliability and efficiency of electrical networks
- Provide technical support for the implementation of regulations, particularly on networks and sale of surplus produced by self producers
Requirements
- Bac+5 or equivalent engineering degree in electrical engineering, renewable energy, or similar
- At least 12 years of professional experience in electrical network management and development
- At least 5 years of practical experience in consulting for design, development, and implementation of smart transmission and/or distribution networks
- In depth knowledge of electrical risk prevention standards and protection of people and property
- Good knowledge of electricity master plans and rural electrification schemes
- Excellent oral and written French language skills
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
- Proficiency in electrical network modeling and simulation software

Principales responsabilités
- Appuyer l’élaboration et la mise en œuvre des plans d’actions pour la réduction des pertes techniques et commerciales dans les réseaux électriques;
- Appuyer la conception et la supervision des travaux de réseaux électriques intelligent;
- Appuyer la modélisation et l’évaluation des pertes techniques dans les réseaux électriques;
- Soutenir les standards de prévention des risques électriques et de la protection des personnes et des biens;
- Soutenir la concertation entre les acteurs locaux pour assurer la fiabilité et l'efficacité des réseaux électriques;
- Appui technique à la mise en place de la réglementation en particulier sur les réseaux et sur la vente des excédents produits par un autoproducteur.
Qualifications et compétences
- Bac+5 ou équivalent. Il doit être titulaire d’un diplôme d’ingénieur en génie électrique, énergie renouvelable ou domaine similaire;
- Maitrise de l’outil informatique notamment les logiciels de traitement de texte, tableur, présentation (Power Point);
- Maitrise un des logiciels de modélisation et simulation des réseaux électriques.
Expérience professionnelle générale
- Au moins 12 ans d'expérience professionnelle dans le secteur de la gestion et du développement des réseaux électriques;
- Aptitude à travailler dans une équipe pluridisciplinaire.
Expérience professionnelle spécifique
- Expérience pratique d'au moins 5 ans dans le domaine du conseil à la conception, le développement et la mise en œuvre des réseaux de transport et/ou distribution électriques intelligents;
- Connaissance approfondie des standards de prévention des risques électriques et de la protection des personnes et des biens;
- Une bonne connaissance des schémas et/ou plans directeurs d’électricité et d’électrification rurale.
Langues
- Une excellente maitrise orale et écrite de la langue française.
