The Events Manager is responsible for the success of the hotel's meeting, catering, and event segment.
The role secures business, plans meetings and events, and coordinates with clients, hotel operations, and suppliers.
Work location
- The position is based at Beach Rotana Abu Dhabi.
Key responsibilities
- Sell off-site events and locations.
- Handle meetings and catering enquiries according to standard procedures.
- Act as a single point of contact for detailed event planning.
- Coordinate with banquet operations, food and beverage, rooms division, finance, and external suppliers.
- Optimize hotel revenue through strategic yield management and upselling.
- Work with the area sales MICE team to achieve monthly sales targets.
- Conduct site inspections, client entertainment, and familiarization activities.
- Send proposals, confirmations, agreement letters, amendments, and related event correspondence.
- Coordinate meetings and events before, during, and after each event.
Education and experience
- A degree in hospitality is preferred.
- Previous catering sales experience within a hotel is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills are essential.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills are essential.
- Computer literacy is required.
- Previous Opera experience is advantageous.
Knowledge and competencies
- The role requires a customer-driven, proactive, focused, outgoing, and approachable personality.
- The successful candidate should work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant competencies include hotel operations, effective communication, business planning, supervising people, supervising operations, teamwork, adaptability, customer focus, and drive for results.
