Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, quantity take offs, and bills of quantities for mechanical works
- Review and analyze tender documents, drawings, specifications, and contract conditions
- Conduct site visits and assessments to gather information for accurate estimation
- Develop comprehensive cost breakdowns including direct costs, indirect costs, overhead, profit margins, and contingencies
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to obtain quotations and negotiate rates
- Prepare tender submissions, bid proposals, and commercial offers
- Conduct value engineering analysis to identify cost saving opportunities
- Maintain and update cost databases, unit rates, and historical data

- Proven experience in mechanical estimation for large scale projects
- Proficiency in estimating software such as CostX, Candy, Timberline
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and building services

Job Overview
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, quantity take offs, and bills of quantities for mechanical works including HVAC systems, plumbing, firefighting, fire suppression, and building services for large scale retail commercial, healthcare, residential and mixed use projects.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze tender documents, drawings, specifications, and contract conditions to understand mechanical works scope and requirements.
- Conduct site visits and assessments to gather information required for accurate estimation of mechanical works.
- Prepare material take offs, price analysis, equipment requirements, and subcontractor scope definitions for mechanical construction activities.
- Develop comprehensive cost breakdowns including direct costs, indirect costs, overhead, profit margins, and contingencies for mechanical works.
- Utilize estimating software such as CostX, Candy, Timberline, and other estimation tools to prepare accurate and competitive pricing for mechanical works.
- Coordinate with mechanical subcontractors, equipment suppliers, and vendors to obtain quotations, compare pricing, and negotiate rates.
- Prepare tender submissions, bid proposals, and commercial offers for mechanical works in compliance with client requirements and deadlines.
- Conduct value engineering analysis to identify cost saving opportunities in mechanical systems without compromising quality or specifications.
- Prepare comparison sheets, cost analysis reports, and risk assessments for mechanical works to support management decision making.
- Participate in pre bid meetings, site visits, and clarification sessions with clients and consultants.
- Maintain and update cost databases, unit rates, historical data, and mechanical subcontractor/supplier information.
- Coordinate with project management, procurement, and planning teams to ensure accuracy and alignment of mechanical estimates.
Requirements
- Proven experience in mechanical estimation for large scale projects.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as CostX, Candy, Timberline.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and building services.
- Ability to conduct site visits and assessments.
