Overview
We're looking for a seasoned Estimation Engineer to own MEP cost planning and pricing for hyperscale data center projects. You'll partner with design, procurement, and construction teams to deliver accurate, competitive estimates that balance cost with the mission-critical reliability these faciliti
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare Class 5–1 MEP cost estimates (conceptual through detailed) following AACE standards, covering HVAC, electrical distribution, UPS, generators, fire protection, plumbing, BMS, and low-voltage systems.
- Execute detailed quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications, and BIM models; develop cost breakdowns across labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, indirects, escalation, and contingency.
- Solicit, evaluate, and benchmark subcontractor and supplier quotes; conduct bid comparisons and deliver commercial recommendations to leadership.
- Collaborate with design engineers, preconstruction, procurement, and operations teams to validate scope, align assumptions, and identify cost and schedule risks.
- Support value engineering and constructability reviews to optimize costs without compromising redundancy or reliability requirements critical to data center operations.
- Maintain and evolve historical cost databases, benchmarks, and metrics specific to data center MEP systems; prepare basis of estimate (BOE) documents and client-ready presentations.
- Ensure all estimates comply with company standards, governance frameworks, and SOX/internal control requirements.
