Role overview
Naffco is seeking a commercially minded and technically capable Estimation Engineer for its fire door estimating team.
The role prepares accurate, competitive and compliant estimates and quotations for fire door systems and associated hardware.
Estimation and tendering
- Prepare detailed costed estimates and tender submissions covering doorsets, frames, ironmongery schedules and ancillary items.
- Analyse enquiries and tender documents to define scope, identify risks, clarifications and assumptions, and produce transparent commercial breakdowns.
- Coordinate with sales, project engineering, design and supply chain to verify material, labour and subcontract costs.
- Obtain supplier quotations and validate buildability and programme implications.
Commercial and pre-sales support
- Develop and present tender responses, value engineering options and alternative solutions to improve win rates and margin performance.
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, pricing models, assumptions and correspondence in CRM and estimating systems.
- Support pre-sales through site visits, technical clarifications, client meetings and presentations.
- Identify technical or commercial issues, propose pragmatic solutions and escalate where necessary.
