Role Overview
The SOAR Engineer will monitor, develop, and maintain the core automation capabilities of malomatia Cyber Security Services.
The role supports rapid identification, understanding, and response to cyber security incidents through automation and technical expertise.
Responsibilities
- Act as the technical subject matter expert for SOAR, security automation, playbooks, Python automation, API automation, and incident response lifecycle automation.
- Develop and execute procedures for SOAR platform administration.
- Design, deploy, and maintain SOAR platforms, including content, change, version, patch, and lifecycle management.
- Work with SOC and Security Engineering teams to improve automation and deliver resilient security solutions.
- Improve SOC processes and workflows through SOAR integration and maintain compatibility with detection and response tools.
- Integrate new sources, build incident response playbooks, and develop custom detection and response scripts.
- Build log and alert enrichment pipelines for SOC analysts.
- Operate and mature SOC playbooks, workflow automations, and use cases.
- Support client setup, transition, onboarding, and managed security service client communications.
Qualifications
- Relevant degree.
- One or more certificates related to a SOAR platform.
- At least 3 years of SOAR implementation and support experience or at least 5 years of cyber security engineering experience.
- Experience with SOAR technologies, security architecture, tool integration, API development, automation, incident response, and SOC workflows.
- Experience with Python, REST APIs, JSON, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, XML, Linux, and Windows.
- Experience developing cyber security dashboards and reports and integrating security tools with ITSM systems.
- Strong problem-solving, independent working, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
Desirable Experience
- Familiarity and experience working within the region is desirable.
- Experience working as part of an MSSP or MDR provider is desirable.
