Role Overview
Support secure, efficient, and reliable AIX, Linux, storage, cloud, and infrastructure services for client systems.
Ensure system availability, data integrity, performance, and operational support for critical infrastructure.
Infrastructure Responsibilities
- Maintain GPFS, PowerHA, AIX 7.1 or later, VIOS, and PowerVM.
- Install and manage IBM AIX systems and provide L3 support for AIX, servers, and VIO servers.
- Apply patches, monitor system logs, perform firmware upgrades, and maintain operating system integrity.
- Manage VIO, Hardware Management Console, LPARs, LPAR profiles, and LPAR cloning procedures.
- Perform mksysb-based recovery and support disaster recovery activities.
Storage and Cloud
- Administer SAN environments, storage replication, IBM storage, SVC, FS7200, FS900, V7000, and Brocade switches.
- Configure SAN security, LUN masking, port zoning, and related SAN architecture components.
- Deploy, manage, monitor, patch, and secure Azure virtual machines, networks, and storage.
Security and Operations
- Implement infrastructure security policies, access controls, and data protection measures.
- Deploy and manage Trend Micro security products, analyze logs, detect threats, and remediate malware or vulnerabilities.
- Monitor incidents and customer calls, enter requests in ServiceNow, and coordinate resolution with technical teams.
- Participate in on-call rotations and facilitate technical bridges during service disruptions.
Experience and Education
- At least 12 years of Unix system administration experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
- Hands-on experience with RHEL, Ubuntu, AIX, Red Hat Satellite, Ansible, clustering, IBM PowerHA, VMware vSphere, SAN, storage, and Azure.
- Strong background in Blade hardware technologies and IBM Power Systems.
- Ability to work varying hours and shifts.
Certifications
- RHCE, ITIL Foundation V3 or V4, and IBM Certified Specialist pSeries Administration and Support for AIX are listed as required certifications.
- Azure Administrator Associate, Google Certified Professional Cloud Architect, Red Hat container and Kubernetes certification, and Microsoft Azure Architect Expert are listed as good-to-have certifications.
Additional Technical Skills
- PowerVM services include Shared Ethernet Adapter, NPIV, and virtual SCSI configuration.
- Required administration areas include SAN security, storage replication, Azure infrastructure, Trend Micro security solutions, and automation scripting.
