Job Description

Infrastructure and Platform Management

• Manage enterprise virtualization platforms and Azure Cloud infrastructure supporting multiple government organizations.
• Manage more than 1,500 servers across VMware, Hyper-V, and Azure environments while ensuring availability, performance, and stability.
• Plan hypervisor upgrades and lifecycle management for underlying server hardware.
• Coordinate datacenter hardware installation with vendors, facilities, and internal technical teams.

Onboarding, Design, and Migration

• Onboard government entities to the MCIT Datacenter according to procedures, standards, and project timelines.
• Create and review IT infrastructure and Azure Cloud architecture design documents.
• Deploy proof-of-concept and production cloud solutions using Microsoft and VMware technologies.
• Deploy Azure components, SaaS, and PaaS solutions and integrate them with existing infrastructure.
• Operate workloads migrated to Azure while maintaining performance, availability, and cost efficiency.

Security, Resilience, and Innovation

• Enforce security and compliance standards across servers and applications in line with government policy.
• Plan and execute backup strategies across server, application, and database layers.
• Design and deploy VMware vRealize Operations and Site Recovery Manager for monitoring and disaster recovery.
• Evaluate container technologies through application proof-of-concepts, including Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
• At least 8 years of related IT experience, with most experience in cloud environments.
• Proven experience designing, implementing, and securing cloud solutions.
• Extensive Azure knowledge and experience implementing Microsoft infrastructure and Azure services.
• Strong Linux and container background, including Red Hat, CentOS, and Ubuntu.
• Experience in senior technical support at L3 level.
• Experience migrating solutions to Azure and automating cloud operations with code and PowerShell.
• Experience with infrastructure deployment, troubleshooting, transformation projects, and implementation support transitions.
