Energy Lead

Role Purpose

Team Leadership and Technical Delivery

• Lead, supervise, and develop the Energy Engineering Team.
• Plan and prioritize team activities to achieve departmental objectives and project requirements.
• Manage temporary power studies, construction energy optimization, and energy audits.
• Review and approve technical deliverables before submission to the Construction Energy Manager.
• Ensure engineering solutions are practical, efficient, and cost-effective.

Monitoring and Innovation

• Oversee monitoring of electricity, fuel, and temporary plant energy consumption.
• Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency and reduce operating costs.
• Verify the effectiveness of implemented energy-saving initiatives.
• Coordinate with project teams, plant, procurement, tendering, and sustainability teams.
• Evaluate innovative construction energy technologies and support pilot projects.

Reporting and Governance

• Prepare monthly energy reports, dashboards, and KPI summaries.
• Maintain accurate records of energy consumption, savings, and innovation initiatives.
• Monitor team performance and recommend continuous improvement actions.
• Ensure compliance with HSE, quality, and company procedures.
• Promote safe, sustainable, and efficient construction energy practices.

HSE, Quality, and Value

• Comply with company HSE and sustainability policies and help maintain a safe, healthy, and sustainable workplace.
• Adhere to quality standards and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Report HSE incidents and violations to superiors promptly.
• Drive innovation and encourage cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, solar energy, or a related field.
• 8+ years of relevant experience with well-established contracting companies in the GCC.
• Strong knowledge of renewable energy systems, solar hybrid solutions, and energy-efficiency technologies.
• Knowledge of HSE standards, operational hazards and controls, and international HSE standards and systems.
• Hands-on experience implementing ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 requirements.
• Ability to influence employees to implement HSE tools.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Power BI is preferred; AutoCAD or Revit is preferred.
