- Participate in hospital committees and leadership meetings
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent recognized medical qualification
- Completion of accredited residency training in Emergency Medicine
- Board Certification in Emergency Medicine
- Minimum 5 to 10 years in a leadership, supervisory, or department head role
- Ability to work effectively in high pressure environments
- Willingness to relocate and work in Nauru

Job Summary
- We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Head of Emergency Medicine (ER Head) to lead and manage our Emergency Department at a government hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical oversight and leadership for all Emergency Department activities.
- Ensure delivery of high quality, evidence based emergency medical care.
- Develop and implement clinical protocols, guidelines, and best practices.
- Lead emergency response and disaster preparedness initiatives.
- Manage daily operations of the Emergency Department.
- Monitor patient flow and implement strategies to reduce waiting times.
- Ensure adequate physician coverage and staffing levels.
- Participate in workforce planning and recruitment activities.
- Lead quality improvement and patient safety programs.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and departmental outcomes.
- Investigate incidents, complaints, and adverse events and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, accreditation standards, and government regulations.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent recognized medical qualification.
- Completion of accredited residency training in Emergency Medicine.
- Board Certification in Emergency Medicine.
- Minimum 5 to 10 years in a leadership, supervisory, or department head role.
- Ability to work effectively in high pressure environments.
- Willingness to relocate and work in Nauru.
