About the Role

  • Part of the Aircraft Integration Team, the Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3 / RF Systems) Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of E3 to ensure aircraft safety against internal and external electromagnetic threats. This role supports new aircraft development programs as well as modif

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, plan, and execute E3 certification strategies, including preparation and conduct of certification tests and compliance documentation
  • Define and support E3 architecture for new or modified electrical and electronic systems to ensure resistance to electromagnetic effects and abnormal environmental conditions
  • Support antenna co site analysis, evaluation, and optimization for aircraft communication systems
  • Assist system designers in developing technical specifications and equipment installations, ensuring full compliance with environmental standards
  • Support electrical and mechanical teams during system validation and verification (V&V) activities
  • Review supplier E3 qualification test plans and reports to ensure aircraft level electromagnetic environment compliance
  • Provide EMI/EMC guidance to internal teams, suppliers, and customers
  • Liaise with certification authorities, suppliers, and accredited test houses
  • Create, maintain, and update test reports, procedures, certification evidence, and documentation for accredited testing
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to cost reduction, efficiency, and process optimization

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
  • Specialization in Electromagnetics and RF Communication Design is a strong advantage

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in EMC / E3 within the Aerospace & Defence industry
  • Good understanding of aircraft and system design processes, including ARP 4754 & ARP 4761
  • Ability to flow system requirements down to subsystem specifications and drawings
  • Experience evaluating system designs, wiring diagrams, and installations against applicable standards
  • Knowledge of 14 CFR Part 23 regulations, including fuel tank protection against lightning, HIRF, static electricity, and related hazards
  • Ability to analyze aircraft modifications and ensure certification compliance
  • Experience performing electronic system analyses (sensors, radar, communications, flight controls, power systems, etc.)
  • Strong theoretical knowledge of EM fields, transmission lines, antennas, propagation, signal integrity, EMI/EMC
  • Familiarity with RTCA/DO‑160, SAE ARP standards, and FAA advisory circulars
  • Knowledge of MIL‑STD‑464 and MIL‑STD‑461 is a strong asset
  • Experience working in EASA/FAA approved Design Organizations (Part 21J) is a strong asset
  • Hands on experience with EMA3D, CST, and/or FEKO electromagnetic simulation tools is an advantage
