About the Role
Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) is seeking an Electrical Technician for maintenance in Doha, Qatar. The role involves electrical installation, repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of machinery and equipment in a heavy industrial environment.

Responsibilities
- Attend to all electrical equipment breakdowns such as LV MV motors, LV Switchboards, MCCs, Plant lightings, Transformers, UPS, VFD, Breakers, Soft starter, etc.
- Carry out planned/preventive/predictive maintenance work with minimum direction and supervision
- Identify and report any abnormalities; repair and/or replace required items and re assemble and test equipment, leaving the working area clean
- Technically assess the requirement of allocated jobs and select the necessary tools and equipment to complete such work
- Effectively diagnose electrical breakdowns/failures and troubleshoot electrical failures of plant and equipment with minimum or no direction
- Using the computerized maintenance system (SAP), order spare parts from warehouse and maintain records of all maintenance work completed
- Ensure that all maintenance work is carried out in accordance with safety procedures and plant operational requirements
- Monitor any repeated breakdown and recommend proper modification to resolve the problem
- Provide plant & equipment knowledge to newly joined electricians/craft trainees and contractors
- Continuously work towards improving EHS and Plant & Equipment Performance by participating in 5S, Business Excellence and Safety Initiatives
- Perform other related duties as communicated by Supervisor/Superior
- Assist other departments in the repair and troubleshooting of equipment
Requirements
- Diploma in relevant field
- Completion of PEC Craft Training
- 3 Years' of relevant experience in a heavy industry after Diploma
- No experience required after completion of PEC Training
- Good knowledge of written and spoken English
- Familiar with all maintenance tools and good IT knowledge
- Experience in installation & troubleshooting
- Able to read and understand engineering drawings/manuals/instructions

Job Purpose
