- Provide legal guidance on academic policies, institutional governance, and compliance with local and international education regulations
- Review and draft contracts, policies, and legal documents related to students, faculty, and staff
- Advise university leadership on legal risks and mitigation strategies
- Handle matters related to student rights, disciplinary procedures, employment issues, and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate with external legal counsel when necessary
- Conduct training sessions for staff on legal compliance
- Monitor changes in relevant laws and support strategic decision making to ensure the university’s operations remain legally sound
Requirements
- Strong foundation in Law with demonstrated experience in educational or institutional legal contexts
- Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation, including drafting, reviewing, and interpreting contracts, policies, and formal agreements
- Ability to identify, assess, and address Legal Issues affecting academic operations, governance, and student and staff matters
- Experience providing clear, practical Legal Advice to diverse stakeholders
- Knowledge of Labor and Employment Law, particularly as it applies to academic institutions and UAE regulations
- Relevant university degree in Law (LLB or equivalent); advanced legal qualifications or bar admission are an advantage
- Familiarity with UAE legal framework and regulatory environment for higher education institutions
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and written communication skills, with attention to detail and confidentiality
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
- Prior experience in higher education or public sector institutions in a legal advisory capacity is highly beneficial

Role Description
- This full time Educational Legal Advisor role is an on site position located at Plekhanov University Dubai in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
- The Educational Legal Advisor provides legal guidance on academic policies, institutional governance, and compliance with local and international education regulations.
- Daily responsibilities include reviewing and drafting contracts, policies, and legal documents related to students, faculty, and staff, as well as advising university leadership on legal risks and mitigation strategies.
- The role involves handling matters related to student rights, disciplinary procedures, employment issues, and regulatory requirements, and coordinating with external legal counsel when necessary.
- The Educational Legal Advisor also conducts training sessions for staff on legal compliance, monitors changes in relevant laws, and supports strategic decision making to ensure the university’s operations remain legally sound and aligned with best practices.
