About the Role
ALEC Technologies seeks a detail-oriented Document Controller to manage technical documents, drawings, and quality records for construction projects. You will support production, QA/QC, and project teams, ensuring proper document control, filing, and distribution.

Responsibilities
- Update submittal/records status and keep all registers updated with document status
- Distribute submittals from sub contractors for internal review as per Document Distribution Matrix
- Submit project submittals with transmittal cover to the consultant
- Scan and upload commented/approved submittals in the project document management system/server
- Prepare files with proper labelling for traceability of records
- Maintain proper file management and housekeeping per ISO 9001 protocol
- Use and operate document management systems such as Aconex/Unifier
- Save project documents/records in established folder structure
- Maintain confidentiality around sensitive information
- Prepare ad hoc reports on projects as needed
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years in a document control role in construction environment
- Preferably 2 years in QA/QC department
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Attention to detail and confidentiality
- Basic understanding of joinery terminology, materials, and workflow

- You will work closely with production, design, and QA/QC teams to ensure documentation is properly controlled and accessible.
Your Role
- Update submittal/records status and keep all registers updated with document status.
- Distribute submittals from sub contractors for internal review as per Document Distribution Matrix.
- Submit project submittals with transmittal cover to the consultant.
- Scan and upload commented/approved submittals in the project document management system/server.
- Prepare files with proper labelling for traceability of records.
- Maintain proper file management and housekeeping per ISO 9001 protocol.
- Use and operate document management systems such as Aconex/Unifier.
- Save project documents/records in established folder structure.
- Maintain confidentiality around sensitive information.
- Prepare ad hoc reports on projects as needed.
- Ensure to professionally indent all original documents related to projects.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 5 years in a document control role in construction environment, preferably 2 years in QA/QC department.
- Document control systems and file management.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Basic understanding of joinery terminology, materials, and workflow.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and quality systems (desirable).
- Experience with QA/QC documentation and inspection tools (desirable).
- Ability to read joinery/architectural drawings (desirable).
- Awareness of HSE standards in a factory environment (desirable).
