About the Role

Responsibilities
- Assess current setup (Proxmox virtual environment, Windows 11 VMs, BYOD remote access) and recommend robust architecture
- Design and harden remote access method (RDP hardening, VDI, or zero trust model) to disable clipboard, drive mapping, USB redirection, printing, and file transfer
- Implement and configure DLP agents on Windows 11 virtual machines
- Configure network level controls to restrict VM access to internal Git server only, blocking external code hosting and paste services
- Block exfiltration through personal email, cloud storage, and messaging tools
- Implement screen capture deterrents such as watermarking and application controls
- Set up monitoring, alerting, and reporting for policy violations
- Document full configuration and provide structured knowledge transfer to internal team
- Recommend compensating controls for residual risk, including known BYOD limitations
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in IT security, with a strong focus on data protection
- Proven experience designing and deploying DLP solutions in production environments
- Hands on experience with endpoint DLP products
- Experience securing remote, VDI, or virtualized environments
- Working knowledge of Proxmox or comparable virtualization platforms
- Windows 11 and Windows Server hardening, including Group Policy
- RDP security configuration and session control
- Strong network security skills, including firewalling, egress filtering, and whitelisting
- Ability to work independently and deliver against agreed milestones

Role Description
- We are looking for an experienced DLP and Security Consultant to design and implement a Data Loss Prevention solution for our remote development environment, on a freelance, project basis.
- Our developers will connect remotely to virtual machines hosted on a Proxmox environment, and the core requirement is absolute: source code must never leave the controlled environment or be copied onto a developer's local device.
- You will own the engagement end to end, from assessing our current setup through to design, implementation, documentation, and handover to our internal team.
Key Responsibilities
