About the Role

- Serve as Faculty Director of CASIC and Co Chair of the UNESCO Chair in Arabic Language, AI, and Digital Heritage
- Provide academic leadership and build partnerships to advance research, education, and outreach
- Shape the center's long term strategy, set clear priorities, and foster a culture of innovation and collaboration
- Build research programs combining scholarly traditions of Arab and Islamic civilizations with contemporary methods
- Collaborate with local and international stakeholders, including Sharjah Art Foundation, Sharjah Museums Authority, etc.
- Support graduate student research, postdoctoral fellowships, and visiting scholars
Requirements
- PhD in a relevant field (Arabic studies, Islamic civilization, or closely related discipline)
- Excellent record of academic and research leadership
- Experience in American model of higher education
- Proficiency in Islamicate languages is desirable
