Role Overview
- The Director of Finance provides financial leadership, focusing on profitability, accurate reporting, internal control, and compliance with regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and communicate cash flow related issues including preparation of cash flow statements, management of receivables, payables, cash balances, control mechanisms and timely deposits of all funds.
- Ensure compliance with all laws and fiscal regulations of the country of location affecting financial matters of the hotel.
- Safekeep all leases, contracts, and legal records affecting the financial status of the hotel.
- Sign and approve daily reports of operations, monthly reports, trends, source of business reports, and auditor's check list reports.
- Monitor hotel revenues and expenses and ensure accurate recording per international guidelines.
- Investigate and critique variances to budget or prior year and offer practical improvement methodologies.
- Monitor capital planning process, assist with return on capital calculations, and ensure proper upkeep of property.
- Ensure compliance on all regulatory licenses, permits, leases, contracts, legal agreements, and operational taxes.
- Analyze financial data to assist management in maintaining financial objectives.
- Ensure all balance sheet accounts, including bank reconciliations, are reconciled on a timely basis.
- Assist in recruiting and maintaining an inventory of Controllers, Assistant Controllers, Accounting Managers, and other managers.
