Role Overview

Strategic Finance and Governance

• Lead financial strategy, planning, investment advice, financial modelling, scenario planning, commercial analysis, and resource allocation.
• Oversee finance and accounting operations, policies, internal controls, financial records, cash flow, compliance, and financial governance.
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, budget reporting, cost optimisation, investment prioritisation, and business case planning.

Accounting, Audit, and Compliance

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, month-end and year-end close, management accounts, and financial statements.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, reconciliations, payroll-related records, VAT, tax, and statutory submissions.
• Lead external audits and maintain accurate, timely, transparent, and decision-useful financial reporting.

IT and Operations Oversight

• Provide strategic oversight of IT systems, infrastructure, security, data protection, access controls, cybersecurity, business continuity, procurement, and software licensing.
• Oversee Operations and Culture strategy, budgets, workforce planning, organisational initiatives, and integration with Finance and IT.
• Ensure Finance, IT, and Operations and Culture systems and decisions are financially sound, operationally effective, and strategically aligned.

Commercial and People Leadership

• Provide commercial advice on pricing, cost structures, revenue, funding, investment, risks, margins, vendor reviews, contracts, and procurement.
• Lead, coach, and develop the Finance Manager and Head of IT and represent Finance and IT in leadership and cross-functional forums.
• Build effective relationships with executives, directors, department heads, auditors, banks, vendors, advisors, and other stakeholders.

Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, economics, or a related field.
• Significant senior finance experience in strategic finance leadership, Finance Director, or CFO-style roles.
• Strong knowledge of financial strategy, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, controls, audit, tax, VAT, and compliance.
• CPA, ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent professional finance qualifications are strongly preferred.
• Experience overseeing IT, systems, digital governance, cybersecurity, or technology budgets is desirable.
• Xero experience is desirable, along with strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
