Role Overview
Lead and develop a team of Cost Managers and oversee cost management services for large-scale construction programs.
Drive commercial and financial performance, client relationships, strategic leadership, and successful service delivery.
Leadership and Service Delivery
- Lead cost management teams, client communications, service delivery, resource planning, financial management, and staff development.
- Set team goals, develop high-performing teams, and support mentorship, career development, succession planning, recruiting, and workforce planning.
- Capture lessons learned, implement process improvements, and promote a collaborative one-business culture.
- Ensure quality standards, participate in ISO audits, and coordinate internal and external audits.
Commercial and Cost Management
- Track budgets, forecasts, change management, revenue, margin performance, and resource requirements across multiple commissions.
- Oversee cost planning, cost controls, forecasting, reporting, and change management throughout project lifecycles.
- Support procurement strategies, bid evaluations, and value engineering initiatives.
- Develop risk mitigation plans, KPIs, management controls, and performance measures.
Market and Client Growth
- Research construction market conditions and industry trends and produce thought leadership reports and market insights.
- Build relationships with existing and prospective clients and identify cross-selling and business growth opportunities.
- Prepare proposals and RFP responses and represent the business at industry, networking, and client events.
- Participate in leadership meetings and present to senior stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field.
- An advanced degree is preferred.
- At least 12 years of cost management, quantity surveying, or commercial management experience.
- At least 2 years leading cost management teams within a consulting environment.
- Demonstrated people leadership and success delivering cost management on complex construction projects.
- Experience supporting large-scale capital projects in relevant industrial, technology, data center, life sciences, or real estate markets.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cost controls, change management, procurement support, and financial reporting.
- Strong business development, client relationship, presentation, communication, and organizational skills.
