Role Overview

  • Seeking a Desktop Engineer to support an on premises environment through hands on operational support and end user device lifecycle maintenance.
  • Provide day to day support for desktop technologies, troubleshoot user issues, and help maintain stable and secure operations for the on premises estate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide on site desktop support for incidents, requests, and problem tickets.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, OS, application, and connectivity issues (e.g., login failures, network access, printers/peripherals).
  • Perform user onboarding/offboarding activities, including account access checks and baseline configuration.
  • Support desktop imaging and standard builds; coordinate software packaging/deployment as required.
  • Install, update, and validate endpoint software (productivity tools, line of business apps, security agents).
  • Manage endpoint configuration baselines (policies, drive mappings, shortcuts, permissions, standard settings).
  • Maintain device health through OS updates/patching coordination, configuration checks, and remediation.
  • Ensure endpoint security hygiene (AV/EDR status, firewall settings, least privilege practices, secure configuration).
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation: logs, asset/update records, runbooks, and resolution notes.
  • Escalate and coordinate with technical teams when issues require higher level support.
  • Support basic troubleshooting for peripherals and common end user tools (VPN clients, mail/profile setup, browsers).

Requirements

  • Solid experience in desktop support or end user computing for on premises environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows desktop/laptop environments.
  • Experience with desktop lifecycle activities: onboarding/offboarding, imaging/builds, configuration baselines.
  • Experience installing and supporting enterprise applications and performing software updates/upgrades.
  • Knowledge of security fundamentals (patching hygiene, antivirus/EDR awareness, secure configuration).
  • Ability to document work clearly and follow operational procedures.
  • Customer facing communication skills and ability to work effectively with end users.
  • Must be able to work 100% onsite and be fully dedicated during business hours (Abu Dhabi).
  • Able to operate independently with minimal supervision.
