Role Overview
Assystem is seeking a Design Engineer for water supply and sewerage infrastructure projects.
The role plans, designs, and develops transmission systems, distribution networks, pumping stations, treatment plants, and associated systems.
Workplace and Schedule
- The position is permanent and based in Bengaluru, India.
- The role is on site.
Engineering Design Responsibilities
- Prepare engineering designs for water supply and sewerage systems.
- Design water transmission mains, distribution networks, sewer networks, pumping stations, reservoirs, WTPs, and STPs.
- Perform hydraulic calculations and network modeling using WaterGEMS and SewerGEMS.
- Develop detailed engineering drawings, layouts, profiles, and schematics.
- Prepare design reports, calculations, bills of quantities, and technical specifications.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of hydraulic design for water supply and sewerage networks.
- Knowledge of water treatment and wastewater treatment processes.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, WaterGEMS, WaterCAD, SewerGEMS, SewerCAD, EPANET, GIS, and MS Excel.
- Familiarity with project management tools is required.
Knowledge and Qualifications
- Knowledge of the CPHEEO Manual on Water Supply and Sewerage, Indian Standards codes, and relevant design guidelines.
- Knowledge of environmental and pollution control regulations.
- Knowledge of construction practices for pipelines, pumping stations, and treatment plants.
- Knowledge of contract management and tendering procedures.
- A bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent is required; a diploma with higher experience may be considered.
- Typically three to ten years of experience in water supply and sewerage infrastructure projects is required.
- Experience in municipal infrastructure, urban development, AMRUT, Jal Jeevan Mission, Smart City, or sewerage projects is desirable.
