Objective and Purpose
Execute primary engineering activities for substation projects under the direction of the Primary Design Lead.
Design substation layouts, provide drafting inputs, and facilitate BIM 3D model development.
Key Responsibilities
- Review substation drawings and coordinate with site execution, cluster, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Ensure design compliance with specifications and quality systems, including review of 2D and 3D drawings and documentation.
- Review vendor offers and documents and perform pre-tender engineering, bill-of-materials estimation, and offer reviews.
- Prepare equipment sizing calculations for busbars, UPS, DG, LT transformers, and earthing conductors.
- Review bills of material against tender quantities.
Qualifications and Experience
- B.E. or B.Tech. in Electrical or Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
- 4–7 years of experience in primary engineering design for substations or power distribution projects.
- Knowledge of national and international codes and standards.
- Understanding of civil and structural, mechanical, and instrumentation design aspects related to electrical equipment.
Technical Knowledge
- Primary engineering activities include SLD preparation, layout engineering, earthing, cable routing, lighting, lightning protection, and cable tray routing.
- Required calculations include short-circuit force, sag-tension, busbar, UPS, DG, LT transformer, and earthing conductor calculations.
