Deputy MLRO – Virtual Asset Service Provider \| Dubai

A fast-growing Virtual Asset Service Provider is seeking an experienced

Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer (Deputy Mlro)

to support and enhance its financial crime compliance framework.

This is a high-impact role offering the opportunity to operate at the forefront of digital asset regulation within a dynamic and fast-growing organisation.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Chief Compliance Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the firm maintains a robust AML/CTF and sanctions compliance programme in line with UAE regulatory expectations.

You will partner closely with senior leadership, risk, and operational teams to safeguard the business while enabling strategic growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the CCO in overseeing the organisation’s AML, CTF, and sanctions controls.
  • Review, investigate, and escalate suspicious activities, including preparing regulatory filings where required.
  • Assist with regulatory engagement, audits, and inspections.
  • Conduct enterprise-wide financial crime risk assessments across clients, products, and jurisdictions.
  • Help develop and enhance compliance policies, procedures, and monitoring frameworks.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and training to internal stakeholders.
  • Act as MLRO delegate when required.

Candidate Profile

  • 5+ years of financial crime compliance experience, ideally within a Virtual Asset Service Provider, crypto firm, fintech, or regulated financial institution.
  • Strong knowledge of UAE AML regulations and global standards such as FATF recommendations.
  • Demonstrated experience in transaction monitoring, investigations, and regulatory reporting.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving regulatory environment.
  • Professional certifications such as
  • ACAMS, ICA, or equivalent
  • are highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
