About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join the customer onboarding squad at a well-funded fintech in Abu Dhabi. You will own the backend systems that sit at the heart of the customer journey, designing and building scalable services in C# on AWS.

Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable backend services in C# that power the customer onboarding experience
- Own the full lifecycle of features from architecture decisions through to production
- Work closely with product, compliance, and frontend engineers to deliver a seamless onboarding flow
- Build integrations with third party KYC, AML, and identity verification providers
- Ensure systems are performant, secure, and reliable at scale on AWS
- Contribute to engineering standards, code reviews, and technical direction across the team
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience with strong C# and .NET
- Solid AWS experience across core services (Lambda, RDS, SQS, S3, API Gateway)
- Experience building financial or regulated platforms (fintech, banking, payments)
- Understanding of KYC, AML, or customer onboarding flows is a strong advantage
- Strong fundamentals in microservices, REST APIs, event driven architecture
- Takes ownership, communicates clearly, cares about quality

The role
- We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join the customer onboarding squad.
- You'll own the backend systems that sit at the heart of the customer journey — from initial registration through identity verification, compliance checks, and account activation.
- This is not a maintenance role. The platform is scaling and there is meaningful greenfield work ahead.
What you'll be doing
- Designing and building scalable backend services in C# that power the customer onboarding experience.
- Owning the full lifecycle of features — from architecture decisions through to production.
- Working closely with product, compliance, and frontend engineers to deliver a seamless onboarding flow.
- Building integrations with third party KYC, AML, and identity verification providers.
- Ensuring systems are performant, secure, and reliable at scale on AWS.
- Contributing to engineering standards, code reviews, and technical direction across the team.
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience with strong C# and .NET.
