- Assist dentist during procedures and ensure cross infection control
- Prepare surgery and equipment at start of day
- Maintain patient records, invoices, and lab work diary
- Clean and disinfect dental chair, unit, and accessories at end of day
- Perform weekly cleaning of displays, cupboards, and equipment
- Prepare monthly statistics and stock orders

- Practice universal precautions for infection control

Role Purpose
- Maintain smooth workflow in surgery with cooperation with dentist, colleagues, and superiors
- Provide effective and efficient high standard care to patients
- Carry out department's policies and procedures
Key Responsibilities
- Assist dentist/surgeon in all aspects of practice
- Attend to patients with warm reception
- Cooperate with receptionist on paperwork
- Practice universal precaution for infection control
- Maintain availability of stocks
- Participate in patient and family education
Daily Procedures
- Wear appropriate uniform, switch on surgery/unit and computer
- Run 3:1 and motors to remove stagnant water
- Assist surgeon throughout day
- Maintain stocks and note items needing refill
- Keep patient record updated
- Accomplish daily statistics report
- Clean and disinfect dental chair and accessories
- Dispose clinical waste
- Check next day's appointment
Weekly Procedures
- Clean all displays
- Check stocks
- Clean operating chair and stools
- Clean suction tubes and X ray machine
- Clean cupboard fronts, skirting boards, etc.
- Hygiene surgery as per rota
- Prepare weekly stat for meeting
Monthly Procedures
- Complete stock order request form
- Check Sharpak for disposal
- Prepare monthly statistics
