About the Role
OpenAI is hiring its first dedicated Data Scientist for the Identity organization.
The role will define measurement, experimentation, and analytical approaches across sign-up, authentication, account recovery, and enterprise identity experiences.
The position partners with Product, Engineering, Design, Abuse, Risk, and Go-to-Market teams to guide product strategy and balance growth with trust and security.
In This Role
- Define north-star metrics and measurement frameworks for identity products.
- Design and analyze experiments for sign-up, sign-in, onboarding, and account recovery.
- Apply causal inference and observational analysis when randomized experimentation is not feasible.
- Build datasets, dashboards, reporting, and analytical systems that support scalable decisions.
- Communicate trade-offs involving growth, fraud, abuse prevention, and account takeover risks.
Qualifications
- At least 8 years of experience in product data science, experimentation, or product analytics.
- Experience owning product funnels and improving outcomes through experimentation and measurement.
