About the Role

- Manage technical metadata repository and business glossaries to ensure global data assets are discoverable
- Profile global datasets to identify anomalies, measure data quality, and support automated remediation workflows
- Assist in drafting and enforcing data standards, naming conventions, and data classification policies
- Analyze and triage data related incidents across multiple systems
- Collaborate with domain experts to define and document Critical Data Elements (CDEs)
- Support transition from regional legacy databases to unified global platforms
- Identify opportunities to automate manual governance processes
- Compile and report on governance metrics and KPI dashboards to leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, Computer Science or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years experience in data governance, data quality management, or data analyst roles
- Strong SQL querying skills and hands on experience with data profiling in a cloud based data warehouse
- Solid understanding of data governance frameworks, metadata management, and data cataloguing concepts
- Experience configuring and managing Google Cloud Dataplex
- Awareness of data privacy principles (PIPEDA, GDPR)
- Data or technology certifications (e.g., CDMP)

About the role
- As a Data Governance Analyst, you will support enterprise data governance on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Reporting to the Data Governance Manager, you will bridge technical execution and business policy.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the technical metadata repository and business glossaries.
- Profile global datasets to identify anomalies and measure data quality.
- Assist in drafting and enforcing data standards, naming conventions, and data classification policies.
- Analyze and triage data related incidents across multiple systems.
- Collaborate with domain experts to define Critical Data Elements (CDEs).
- Support transition from regional legacy databases to unified global platforms.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual governance processes.

What you bring
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or Computer Science.
- Minimum 2 years experience in data governance, data quality management, or data analyst roles.

Salary Range
- Approximate salary range: CAD 84,250 to CAD 95,000 per year.
