Role Overview
Alight Solutions is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data infrastructure.
The role focuses on robust pipelines, data lakes, and complex Big Data technologies within the AWS ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, construct, test, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, Spark, and PySpark.
- Architect and optimize distributed processing systems using Apache Spark and Hadoop.
- Build and manage serverless and cloud-native data architectures using AWS services such as S3, EMR, Glue, Redshift, Lambda, and Athena.
- Design dimensional data models and optimize query performance for large-scale analytics.
- Implement automated data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting.
- Apply data governance and security standards across the data infrastructure.
Core Qualifications
- Require 4–6 years of professional experience in data engineering or software development.
- Require hands-on experience building AWS-native data lakes and data warehouses.
- Require proficiency with Apache Spark and data streaming technologies such as Kafka or Kinesis.
- Require strong Python coding skills and advanced SQL expertise.
- Require a solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.
