Role overview

NTT DATA is seeking an experienced Data Consulting Director for its growing Data and AI practice.

The role combines client advisory, data and AI delivery, practice development, team leadership, and pre-sales.

The position is London based and maintains a 50% utilization target, with the remaining time focused on pre-sales activity.

Core responsibilities

  • Build trusted relationships with C-suite and wider client stakeholders through strategic advisory and thought leadership.
  • Translate data opportunities into business outcomes, use cases, and investment strategies.
  • Guide clients through digital transformation and deliver data-driven strategies using analytics, AI, and modern data platforms.
  • Lead high-performing teams across multiple locations.
  • Support pre-sales from opportunity discovery through contract signature.
  • Shape propositions, account strategies, and sector responses to grow the Data practice.
  • Develop scalable data frameworks and methodologies.
  • Build, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary consulting, engineering, and AI teams.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Current major management consulting experience, or industry experience with a management consulting background.
  • 10+ years of experience in data consulting or a related role.
  • Deep understanding of data governance, data platforms, cloud technologies, AI or machine learning, and analytics.
  • Experience leading and delivering Data and AI projects.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Skill in identifying Data and AI opportunities, shaping value propositions, and driving growth.
  • Track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
  • Experience solving problems through quantitative data analysis.

Workplace and travel

  • The role is hybrid and London based.
  • The role may involve travel within the UK and Europe and requires flexibility.
