About the Role
AWS is looking for a Data Center Facility Engineer (Electrical) to operate and maintain electrical and mechanical infrastructure in Riyadh data centers. The role involves hands-on troubleshooting, safety leadership, and contractor supervision.

- Follow and maintain highest safety standards and foster a world class safety culture
- Support electrical and mechanical equipment including UPS, Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, ATS, Diesel Generators, Chillers, HVAC, Exhaust Fans, VFDs, and Transformers
- Operate and maintain mechanical and electrical, emergency generator, HVAC and fire/life safety equipment within the data center
- Troubleshoot facility and rack level events within internal SLAs
- Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures
- Drive innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities
- Work rotational shifts of 4 days of 12 hours shifts (2 days followed by 2 nights), and 4 days off including night, weekends and holidays
- Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds/log taking
- Supervise contractors performing servicing or preventive maintenance
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, construction management or similar technical focus
- Knowledge of key electrical competencies and theory
- Knowledge of mechanical systems (Mechanical, HVAC systems, Controls)
- Experience working in operations of critical facilities requiring in depth knowledge in electrical, mechanical, and control systems
- Experience in data center engineering (preferred)
- Knowledge of BMS and EPMS control systems and data collection/trending (preferred)

Description
- AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure.
- AWS is looking for a Data Center Engineering Operations Engineer to join our expanding Data Centers Cloud regions.
Key job responsibilities
- Follow and maintain the highest safety standards and diligently encourage a world class safety culture.
- Support electrical and mechanical equipment including UPS, Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, ATS, Diesel Generators, Chillers, HVAC, Exhaust Fans, VFDs, and Transformers.
- Operate and maintain mechanical and electrical, emergency generator, HVAC and fire/life safety equipment within the data center.
- Troubleshoot facility and rack level events within internal SLAs.
- Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures.
- Drive innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities.
Day in the life
- Work rotational shifts of 4 days of 12 hours shifts (2 days followed by 2 nights), and 4 days off (including night, weekends and holidays).
- Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds/log taking.
- Supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance.
- Occasionally move objects/material (weight limits in accordance with regulations).
- Work in outdoor weather conditions.
- Work in noisy environments.
- Work at heights and from ladders.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, construction management or similar technical focus.
- Knowledge of key electrical competencies and theory.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems (Mechanical, HVAC systems, Controls).
- Experience working in operations of critical facilities which require in depth knowledge in electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in data center engineering.
- Knowledge of BMS and EPMS control systems and data collection/trending.
