About the Role
KONE seeks a Customer Solution Design Engineer to provide technical expertise to the sales team, translating customer requirements into optimal KONE solutions. The role involves reading and analyzing customer drawings, preparing 2D/3D models, and ensuring alignment with building specifications.

Responsibilities
- Read and sort received customer drawings, raise RFI if conflicts with KONE commitments
- Create layout drawings in 2D or 3D matching customer document control and KONE KOS standard
- Find optimal technical solutions to meet customer needs for non standard requirements
- Ensure clarity on solution scope including KONE and third party offerings
- Participate in customer meetings and answer technical questions
- Select correct product platform for offering
- Propose solutions from all KONE business lines (new services, escalators, elevators, doors)
- Participate in product and new services release information sharing sessions
- Provide technical training to Sales, Installation and Maintenance as per Front Line needs
- Offer input to product offering management about customization, standardization and interface requirements
- Contribute to Customer Solutions Engineering virtual and local network
Requirements
- Bachelor or Diploma degree in Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years experience in elevator business or relevant field
- Excellent verbal and written English and Arabic language skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer handling skills
- Understanding of different building types and customer segments
- Good knowledge of environmental and sustainability requirements and norms
- Excellent engineering tool skills e.g. CAD and BIM skills
- Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit 2022, and BIM360 is a must
- Basic knowledge of competitors’ products
- Good understanding of product total costing and local norms and regulations
