Cost Control Engineer

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare project budgets, cost plans, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
• Monitor actual costs against approved budgets and analyze variances.
• Prepare monthly cost reports, cost-to-complete forecasts, and management reports.
• Track commitments, purchase orders, subcontract costs, manpower, materials, and equipment expenses.
• Maintain project cost codes and allocate project expenses accurately.
• Coordinate with project managers, planning, procurement, quantity surveying, accounts, and site teams.
• Assess the effect of project progress on cost, cash flow, and profitability.
• Support variations, change orders, claims, and subcontractor payment evaluations.
• Identify cost overruns and recommend corrective and cost-saving measures.
• Prepare Estimate at Completion and final cost projections.
• Support monitoring of project financial performance and profitability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
• Five to eight years of relevant cost control experience in construction and/or electromechanical MEP projects.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, cost control, cash flow, cost variance analysis, and cost-to-complete reporting.
• Strong UAE or GCC experience is preferred.
• Experience in MEP project costing, procurement, subcontract costs, variations, and claims is highly preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and relevant cost control, ERP, or project management systems.
• Knowledge of Primavera P6 is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, numerical, reporting, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project reporting deadlines.
• Immediate or short-notice availability is preferred.

Compensation

• The description lists pay as AED 1.00 per month.
