Role overview

Turner & Townsend Heery is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager for K-12 education projects.

The role manages public-sector construction projects and supports delivery from project conception through occupancy and closeout.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with design professionals, contractors, and administrators to deliver projects to specifications, codes, regulations, and district policy.
  • Manage budgets, schedules, procurement, quality, and risk across planning, design, construction, occupancy, and closeout.
  • Plan projects, track progress and variances, prepare reports, and manage project information and client communications.
  • Assess change requests, recommend actions, secure client approvals, issue change orders, and manage project governance.
  • Apply quality and risk management routines, maintain accurate documentation and data, and facilitate project meetings.
  • Manage invoicing and financial status, prepare proposals and variations, improve procedures, and identify business development opportunities.

Education and experience

  • Project management experience in design and construction for public-sector projects, ideally including K-12 education.
  • College degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5-8 years of Owner's Representative or Project Management experience, or equivalent.
  • Strong client-facing communication, stakeholder management, teamwork, and strategic advisory skills.
  • Ability to read architectural drawings and contract documents and knowledge of contracts, construction practices, and financial principles.
  • Working knowledge of MS Project is required.
  • Professional registration, LEED accreditation, and PMP or PgMP certification are preferred.
