Project and role

Key responsibilities

• Lead piping fabrication, erection, welding, NDT, PWHT, supports, hydrotesting, reinstatement, and mechanical completion.
• Plan activities against approved schedules and construction priorities, and monitor productivity, welding output, progress, and test-pack completion.
• Manage large site teams and ensure work fronts, materials, equipment, scaffolding, and lifting resources are available.
• Coordinate with Samsung E&A, engineering, QA/QC, HSE, planning, material control, and other disciplines.
• Review piping isometrics, P&IDs, GA drawings, specifications, and construction priorities.
• Coordinate interfaces with static and rotating equipment, structures, E&I, and civil works.
• Ensure compliance with WPS/PQR, welding procedures, NDT, project quality requirements, and HSE requirements.
• Drive hydrotesting, punch clearance, reinstatement, and system handover toward mechanical completion.
• Identify constraints, delays, additional works, and potential variation or claim events.
• Participate in client progress and coordination meetings and provide accurate construction updates.

Candidate requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 15 years of oil and gas or petrochemical construction experience.
• Minimum 5 years in a senior Piping Construction Manager or Piping Superintendent position.
• Strong hands-on experience in large-scale piping fabrication and erection.
• SMP or MEI construction contractor experience is essential.
• Strong knowledge of ASME B31.3 and ASME Section IX.
• Strong knowledge of welding, NDT, PWHT, hydrotesting, flange management, piping supports, test packs, and mechanical completion.
• UAE or GCC construction experience is strongly preferred.
• Previous ADNOC project experience is highly preferred.
• Experience with major EPC contractors such as Samsung E&A, Petrofac, Technip, Saipem, McDermott, Hyundai, or equivalent is advantageous.
• Proven experience managing large multicultural construction teams.
• Strong leadership, communication, planning, and client coordination skills.

Location and deployment

• The project is located in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi, UAE.
• The role requires site-based construction leadership and early availability for deployment to Ruwais is preferred.
