Role and Department

Northern Trust has an established Saudi Compliance function within a wider EMEA Compliance framework.

The role supports assurance over Saudi securities licenses and regulatory obligations.

The position is based in the Riyadh office and reports to the Chief Compliance Officer and MLRO of Northern Trust Company of Saudi Arabia.

The role works with Saudi senior management and regional and global compliance teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor partner procedures and practices for regulatory and internal-policy compliance.
  • Advise business partners on compliance programs, laws, regulations, rules, and standards.
  • Respond to regulatory inquiries and recommend procedural changes when appropriate.
  • Develop compliance programs, identify risks, and prepare analytical reports and solutions.
  • Deliver training and communications on applicable laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate compliance initiatives and interact with committees and management.
  • Communicate with regulators on reporting obligations and queries.
  • Implement and monitor AML and CTF controls.
  • Support AML and CTF risk assessments and suspicious-activity investigations.
  • Perform compliance monitoring and testing and monitor personal account dealing.
  • Support rule-map reviews, compliance risk assessments, and periodic reporting.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Previous compliance experience within capital market institutions.
  • CME qualification and current or previous registration as a compliance person with the CMA.
  • Compliance monitoring, AML, audit, risk, control, or advisory experience is advantageous.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts and data clearly to diverse and senior audiences.
  • Sound judgment, escalation ability, and capacity to manage competing priorities.
  • Influencing, conflict resolution, learning agility, teamwork, and communication skills.
