Job Description** **Why This Role Matters

The Communication Officer creates and publishes high quality content across written, video, and visual formats.

The role ensures clear and consistent communication throughout the organisation’s internal channels to strengthen engagement and create a feeling of.

A core component of this role is the coordination and creative direction of a dedicated production team (2 Media Specialists) to deliver high-impact videos and infographics.

Key Accountabilities

  • **Strategic Planning:** Develop a rolling editorial calendar aligned with operations and manage resource allocation for media specialists.
  • **Information Sourcing:** Establish an internal network and conduct field interviews/site visits to gather cross-functional news (HSE, HR, Quality).
  • **Content Production:** Write enterprise-grade copy and scripts while directing a team of two media specialists on visual asset creation.
  • **Team & Vendor Coordination:** Supervise internal video/infographic production and manage external freelancers for high-spec requirements.
  • **Communication as a Service (CaaS):** Develop and implement a service catalogue defining standardized communication deliverables and workflows for project stakeholders.
  • Channel management
  • Publish via priority internal channels: SharePoint/Intranet and Digital Screens.

Qualification

  • 5+ years in journalism or corporate communication.
  • Proven experience in coordinating creative profiles (video editors, graphic designers).
  • Portfolio of editorial content tailored for operational/technical audiences.
  • Degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field.

Skills & Competencies

  • Creative Direction: Ability to brief and guide media specialists to translate concepts into visual assets.
  • Storytelling: Capacity to translate technical construction data into accessible narratives.
  • Stakeholder Management: Comfortable navigating construction sites and interacting with project teams.
  • Multimedia Literacy: Advanced ability to storyboard for video and infographics.

Key Performance Indicators (Kpis)

  • Production Efficiency: Number of weekly publications.
  • Engagement: Read/unique views, reactions in Teams and video completion rates.
  • Quality: Accuracy of technical information and stakeholder satisfaction scores.
