Role Overview
- As a Commis II, you will assist in the daily preparation and cooking of food items within your assigned kitchen section.
- Working under the supervision of senior chefs, you will follow standard recipes and production procedures while maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and presentation.
- This role is designed to strengthen your culinary skills and support the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food items according to standard recipes.
- Support senior chefs in daily kitchen operations and mise en place.
- Prepare ingredients by washing, cutting, chopping, and portioning as required.
- Follow instructions from Commis I, Demi Chef de Partie, or Chef de Partie.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the assigned kitchen section.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, food safety, and hygiene standards at all times.
- Properly store, label, and rotate food items using FIFO procedures.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any malfunctions.
- Assist in receiving, storing, and organizing kitchen supplies and ingredients.
- Minimize food waste and ensure efficient use of ingredients.
- Support timely preparation of food during service periods.
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations.
